The water pumps are only changed when they begin to seep coolant out the fron shaft seal or if the shaft bearing gets noisey, many times they last the life of the engine as long as u keep the coolant clean and changed now and then.

it is located on the inside of the frame rail just about where the drivers seat is located, u will need a Ford fuel line release tool to change it, the filter is held in a metal braket with one 8mm bolt to remove it, keep rags around the line with u take it off, there will be pressure present in the line, the little tools u need are avail from NAPA or Carquest or Autozone, about $5 & Installation
