Check out this website. www.airbagsolutions.com
The purpose of this website and company is to help people diagnose and repair airbag problems themselves without taking them to the dealer (if possible). It offers all the photos and data you need to understand your airbag system, read the codes and reset the light. It’s a pay site, but it certainly is worth the money ($14.95 for 1 day full access)

The airbag is fastened to the frame behind the dashboard and can only be removed after the dashboard is removed. If youa re unciomfortable with working on the vehicle after you have disabled the system, then you may want to have a technician do this job. the heater core is buried deep behind the dash and all of it needs to be removed before you can get the the heater case and heater core.
